THE WEEKEND EDIT

Women are making history in the fashion industry

It’s ironic for an industry where women make up the overwhelming majority of the consumer base that it is, in fact, still men who dominate the top roles in fashion. Being a tribe of women in business ourselves, we were thrilled to hear the news of Clare Waight Keller being appointed as Artistic Director for Givenchy, the first female designer to head up the brand in its 65-year life span. Coming from French rival Chloé, Keller is the second female designer to take the top position at a major LVMH-owned couture house after Maria Grazia Chiuri was made creative director at Dior last year.

Sneakers - the new fashion statement

Newsflash! Your sneakers are no longer just for the gym – they’re your latest fashion statement. Style-conscious celebrities from Kristen Stewart and Victoria Beckham have all been stepping out in the off-duty shoe of the moment this month. Check out 5ft 10’ actress Charlize Theron looking effortlessly glamorous in a tailored blazer and skinny jeans teamed with crisp white Converse. Opting for a brighter look, American actress Emma Roberts was spotted in a camel town coat and bold Adidas Gazelles. Like their style? Yes it's back - the British blockbuster that stole the nation’s heart. The movie that taught us that love is, actually, everywhere, not to mention introducing us to Hugh Grant’s endearing dance moves. If you’re a fan of the 2003 movie, you’ll be delighted to hear that film-maker Richard Curtis has brought the original stars of Love Actually back together in a special sequel for Comic Relief on March 24. We’ll be watching - hope you enjoy it too!
